UK Server Switch Complete

We have now moved all our UK web sites to the new servers. Enjoy the improved performance.

What do I have to do?

DNS records

The IP address of the main webserver has changed. If you control your Domain Name System (DNS) records you should change the IP address of your web DNS records to point to 85.13.213.3 now. You website will still continue to run on the existing server temporarily but you should make this DNS change in the next day for your site to remain fully operational. Web usage reports for your site will be lost if you don't point your domain to the new server by the end of the 20th April.

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) DNS records - If you have the IP address of our webserver in your SPF records you will need to update this. Please replace this with smtpweb.uk.endis.com if you haven't done so already.

Payment Processors

If you have your own payment processor to take payments online e.g.Sagepay, you will need to ensure that any IP address restrictions you have in place allow the new IP address. This should have been added already but it you haven't done this,or are having issues taking payments, make sure that the IP address 85.13.213.0 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.248 has been added to your Sagepay accounts allowed Ip addresses.

If you have any questions regarding this please email support@endis.com.

Forum Moderation Update

We've made some major changes to the way that forum posts, document feedback and shop item reviews are managed in the Web Office, in order to give administrators powerful control over what can be posted.

Watch the 5 minute video below to get an overview of how the new comment security works.

In light of the new settings you should check the following:

  • Site Comment Security settings - Check your site comment security settings and the security level set on the groups themselves and modify as appropriate. For example you may wish to higher the group security to be visible and writable to site members only. Someone creating a new forum, or article with feedback, will inherit the security settings of the group by default.
  • Review Posts in the Moderation Queue - Your website may have more exclaimation icons AbusiveForum appearing next to several groups since the last release, particularly if your site has been on the Insight system for several years. This is because posts were hidden from your site previously if a change to the the security settings meant the posts no longer met the new security criteria. In line with the new comment security settings, these posts have been added to the moderation queue in the Web Office, so you can choose if you wish to republish these comments or delete them permanently from your website.

If you have many posts that have been marked like this, and wish us to automatically approve or delete all of them, then please contact us to request this.
